This might be one of the most ridiculous threads I've ever read. This is all pure speculation and heresay, with no evidence of any kind. Even if these numbers are true (which they probably aren't) you have no idea what the normal number of cancelled accounts is. There is nothing to compare it to. Absolutely stupid.

You would be better off recording the number of players logged in at the same time each day.

It will take time for the effects to be seen. Too many people are assuming that if this isn't 'instant' it won't matter. Logged in doesn't really fly either. I could always just create a trial account and play, but CCP won't be getting any money for that will they?

It will take so much longer for the effects to be seen than you think, say 10000 people say their accpounts are unsubbed here, well most of them are all talk and no balls, the'll moan and whine and say they'll quit, some may for a while, but you can garuntee most of them are all mouth and will still be paying 6 months down the line, making a petition and threatening to quit does nothing, just saying balls to it, unsubbing and just walking away is what makes a difference.

What makes me laugh about this whole sordid mess is that it's nowhere near as bad as people seem to make out.

Don't get me wrong i'm not saying MT and P2W are good things, i'm saying the situation is not as bad as people make out.

I have seen this in almost every game that has gone from pure sub based to F2P or MT and in every case it caused a vocal riot on the forums, some demonstrations ingame and then after it had been in for a short time most peoples anger burned out and they got on with playing the game with only very minor hits on the amount of open accounts.

It's no different here, there will be outcry on the forums, their will be demonstrationgs ingame, but when push comes to shove a majority of people that play this game do so because they're hoooked, they may say they will cancel but give it a few weeks and they'll be back quietly sneaking back in the door.[/quote

I was there for that and this is far worse, far more vocal far more damaging press, The incarna patch has been an abject disaster for CCP. There were less people online on the saturday after a major expansion for the first time in eves history and that indcludes a few thousand protesters.
